Elevated art at Seven Dials

When it comes to collaborations, London Design Festival tends to attract the best of them. And with Seven Dials, Dezeen and Covent Garden’s shopping village coming together to showcase the work of seven talented designers as part of LDF, this mighty collaborative effort is well work a look.

Featuring the work of Faye Toogood, Paul Cocksedge, Gitta Gschwendtner, Aberrant Architecture, Dominic Wilcox, Philippe Malouin and Monorex friend Vic Lee, each designer was assigned a different location within the Seven Dials, and each creating an ariel installation the results are all pretty impressive.

From Faye Toogood’s series of oversized coats in which creatively represent the trades that have shaped Seven Dials since 1740 to Gitta Gschwendtner’s seven somewhat precariously hung ladders which mirror the underground cellars and vaults that once lurked below Seven Dials’ streets, to Vic Lee’s beautifully illustrated flags, the installations were all designed to reflect elements of the village’s rich history.
